Description
REPORTER:
Fossie
COMPONENT:
Patient >> chart
SUMMARY:
The chart should display drugs that form part of a study regimen differently because the actual drugs in the regimen aren’t always known - they may be unknown or placebos. All drugs in a regimen of a patient in regular follow-up are displayed, and rightly so, in the same colour (tone differences between open and closed regimens aside). Study regimens may have data about whether a constituent drug is “placebo” or “blind” attached to them. This is not charted differently to other drugs, but it should be because the patient may not be getting those drugs at all. The rest of the chart may lose context if unknown drugs or placebos display like “active” therapies do.
REPRODUCE:
Select a patient that has a therapy history and participated in a study at some point >> click chart.
ACTUAL RESULT:
The study regimen is displayed the same way (hue, tone and texture, placement, etc.) as “regular” regimens when in fact the patient may not be taking all the indicated drugs.
EXPECTED RESULT:
Blinded regimens and placebos should be displayed differently in the chart.
NOTE:
*Build a prototype for review.
*This feature was approved at the March 2011 Leuven user meeting.
History

Change proposed by Paul:
If one of the compounds in a regimen is placebo, it should not be displayed in the chart at all. The patient never received the active drug so there is no reason to include it in the chart.

Annotated by a strike through:
- placebo: top strike
- blind: bottom strike
