WVideo issue with Chrome mobile app

Added by James Rempel over 7 years ago

We were using WVideo in our application. It was working fine on the web in different browsers. However it wouldn't work with the Chrome app on Android phones. It just showed a blank space where the video should be.

The videos are in mp4 and ogg file formats.

We can get the videos to load with WMediaPlayer. Is this a know issue? Are there any work arounds? WVideo seems to look better in our opinion as we like the fly over controls and that is also what our client wants.

Here is the a snippet of some of the code. It is working everywhere else we have tried it so far.

WVideo * player = new WVideo();·

if( wApp-> environment().clientAddress() != "71.170.246.90" )·

player-> setOptions(WVideo::Autoplay | WVideo::Controls);·

player-> addSource·

WApplication::relativeResourcesUrl()·

  • VIDEO_SOURCE + ".mp4",·
    "video/mp4"·
    );·

player-> addSource·

WApplication::relativeResourcesUrl()·

  • VIDEO_SOURCE + ".ogg",·
    "video/ogv"·
    );·

// player-> resize( 464, 263 );·

bindWidget( "webinarVideo", player );·

Here is a snippet of the xml.
