I did not test it, but I would not expect any problems using the css3 font-face declarations from an external CSS stylesheet, and referencing these fonts from anywhere, including from within WFont used in painting ?

I should thus read your request as explicit API support for defining the font-faces ?

Yes, the request if for being able to use it through the API.

Also, are you saying font-face fonts can be used in the painting subsystem too? (including canvas.svg,vml,pdf,image?)

W.r.t. painting: as far as the underlying technology allows it. So I would hope canvas and svg, but not the others.
